Owing to South Africa’s size, the annual variation in temperature can be quite large. The inland climate, influenced by altitude, tends to be cool in the morning and evening, while warming up at mid-day. The average daytime temperature is around 80 degrees F (27 degrees C), while it can drop to 60 degrees F (15 degrees C) at night. Along the coast, a warm tropical climate prevails during the day, with temperatures cooling down at night.
Recommended Clothing
Bush clothes should be loose, comfortable and sturdy. Dark green heavy cotton is best, kaki is not the best option. Laundry is done daily; flat irons are used for ironing. South Africa, due to its altitude, can sometimes be cold. A warm duffel jacket or heavy jersey is necessary in some areas for the cool of the evening, night and morning.

Clients shall only be permitted to hunt those animals for which their permit is issued (subject to quota availability). By South African Law only . Any observers who wish to hunt, can do so with prior arrangement with the Outfitter. Please consult with us w re the species that require additional permutation. Firearm import permits are required to enter South Africa, this can be done on arrival but you’ll require certain paperwork. I do however recommend that you obtain this prior to your arrival by using an agent.
There are no specific hunting seasons in South Africa. The driest months are may through October, making it an ideal time for hunting throughout the country. However, it’s important to note that hunting regulations may vary by region and specific reserves.
With the onset of the rainy season in November in some parts of South Africa, such as the central region, movement for hunting can become restricted, and certain areas may suspend hunting activities. However, the Northern part of South Africa generally remains open for hunting during this time.
